The mission of Charity Dye School 27 is to develop a community of respectful, lifelong learners who use inquiry, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to be socially responsible contributors to a changing global society. This mission statement is said aloud every day in our school and drives everything we do – our decision-making, our curriculum, and our interactions with each other and with the world around us. We are part of a network of International Baccalaureate magnet schools within IPS who share a common vision, a commitment to excellence, and a sense of responsibility for making a positive impact on the world.

The Center for Inquiry (CFI) schools follow the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) model. The IBO promotes intercultural understanding and respect by developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world. We lean into the mission of IB programmes by encouraging our students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. CFI schools believe that a high-quality education for every child is built on the foundation of a safe and joyful learning community.

Additional Information

Special Education Services: Students with documented Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans will receive Special Education Services as allotted by IPS. In addition, Charity Dye School 27 has a robust Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process that identifies students who need additional support at any point throughout their schooling and helps to create opportunities for all students to be academically or socially and emotionally successful. Students are also supported when necessary by an occupational therapist and a speech and language pathologist.

All students receive physical education, music, art, media, and world language (Spanish and Chinese). Charity Dye School 27 also offers life skills and development speech pre-K.
